The Immowelt Group has been co-operating with the children’s aid organisation Plan International for many years, and has now taken on sponsorships for 100 children from 50 countries in Asia, Africa and South America. As a result of the sponsorships, the living environment, medical care and prospects of children from developing countries improve sustainably. The children are looked after by the Immowelt and Immonet apprentices in their 1st and 2nd year of apprenticeship. “For us, it’s an important task with lots of responsibility. After all, it means we can play our part in making the world that little bit better”, says future media designer Fabian. It’s not only about financial support, here – the apprentices also maintain close pen-friendships with all sponsored children.
The apprentices exchange correspondence with the sponsored children, with both sides reporting on their respective living environment.
The lively correspondence encourages a dialogue between the cultures, bringing benefit to both sides.
Twice a year the sponsored children receive little gifts, such as a football or a sketchbook.
Educational opportunities – especially for girls – are improved through the establishment of educational institutions.
With aid of the sponsorships, Plan International is able to set up healthcare stations locally and carry out vaccinations.
Sponsored children and their families gain access to clean drinking water, for example.
